 Accra, Ghana

A typical weekend in some Ghanaian homes. Here are two friends, Nicholas and Kwame pounding cassava and unripe plantains together into a paste called fufu. This is then molded by hand into a ball shape and served with a special sauce/soup.

“One who eats alone cannot discuss the taste of the food with others...” African Proverb.

Nicholas is one of the most genuine, funny, happy humans you would be lucky to encounter in Accra Ghana. Food and eating together for him is about community and connection.
